PDM's September Centerstage is Déjà Vu 2006 National Showgirl of the Year, also known as Angelique. Our autumn beauty competed against top showgirls from Déjà Vu clubs across the country to win the coveted title and crown. But Angelique claims the journey to get there is what she'll most fondly recall.

"The competition was definitely the best part," she exclaims. "My friends and I rented an RV and drove to Illinois, and so many crazy things happened driving half way across the country - we video taped most of it," she laughs at the memory. "Six friends, a lot of alcohol, and an open road for two days straight. Need I say more?"

Born and raised in Las Vegas, this all-natural beauty emerged from humble beginnings. And when fate threw her an unexpected curve ball, Angelique turned to exotic dance as a way to help her family deal with a tragic situation.

"My mom developed cancer," she explains. "I started dancing to help her financially, so she wouldn't have to worry about money on top of everything else."

Once her mother recovered, Angelique continued dancing but she also enrolled in school.

"Dancing helps create enough time to study and still have a fun life," she says. "I'll receive a Associate Degree in Financial Economics this Spring, and dancing helped me do it."

When she's not working or studying, Angelique can be found tooling around on her Ninja 500 motorcycle. "I grew up on a Harley," she says somewhat mysteriously, "so I love bike rides."

We wondered what the future has in store for this multi-faceted, exceptionally beautiful wild child.

"For now, I'm just enjoying my title," she admits. "School semester just started again, so things are kind of on hold for now."

But with Angelique's determination, beauty and zest for life, we suspect that life won't be "on hold" for long.
